Equal Opportunities Policy

Street Clean Ltd is committed to equality of opportunity and to treating everyone fairly, with dignity and respect. We value a diverse workforce and will not tolerate unlawful discrimination, harassment or victimisation.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, job applicants, agency workers and subcontractors, and to the way we treat our customers, suppliers and members of the public.

Our commitment

In line with the Equality Act 2010, we will not discriminate against anyone because of a protected characteristic. These are:

  • age
  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race, including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origin
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

What this means in practice

  • Recruitment, pay, training, promotion and all other employment decisions are made on merit, ability and the needs of the business.
  • We do not tolerate direct or indirect discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation.
  • We will make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees, job applicants and customers.
  • Our services are provided to all customers fairly and without discrimination.
  • We expect our subcontractors and suppliers to work to the same standards.

Responsibilities

The Directors have overall responsibility for this policy. Managers and supervisors must apply it in their day-to-day decisions, and everyone who works for us is responsible for treating others with respect.

Raising a concern

Anyone who believes they have been treated unfairly, or who witnesses behaviour that breaches this policy, should raise it with their supervisor or a director. Employees may also use our grievance procedure. Concerns will be taken seriously, handled in confidence as far as possible, and no one will be treated less favourably for raising one in good faith.

Breaches of this policy

Discrimination, harassment and victimisation are treated as disciplinary matters and may amount to gross misconduct.
