select cleaning products carefully, prefer biodegradable and less hazardous options where they are effective, and use, store and dispose of all products in line with COSHH requirements and manufacturers’ guidance
reduce waste, reuse and recycle where practical, and dispose of waste responsibly through authorised routes
maintain our vehicles and equipment so they run efficiently, and plan our journeys to reduce fuel use and emissions
keep noise, dust and disturbance to neighbours, the public and wildlife to a minimum
consider environmental performance when choosing suppliers and subcontractors
Responsibilities
The Directors have overall responsibility for this policy. Supervisors make sure it is followed on site, and every member of our team is expected to work in line with it and to report any environmental incident, spill or near miss straight away.
Training and awareness
We make sure our team understand the environmental risks of the work they carry out and how to control them, including the correct use of equipment, chemicals and spill controls.
Monitoring and review
We review our environmental performance, investigate any incidents and set improvement actions where they are needed.
